It was a hard rain, a perpetual rain, a sweating and steaming rain: it was a mizzle, a downpour, a fountain, a whipping at the eyed, an undertow at the ankles; it was a rain that drowned the memory of all previous rains according to Ray Bradbury. His novel Long Rain inspired the name of our crisp new Rice Lager that we think is the perfect thing to keep your January anything but dry. Pilsner malt and flaked rice keep this lager light and crisp. Untrue to style though, we decided to do a light dry hop on Long Rain with the new Lórien hop from Indie Hops. Lórien is reputed to add lemon zest, fresh melon, sweet hay, and wildflower character to lighter beers.
